Resources
Here are some resources that both astronomy and non-astronomy students may find helpful.
Astronomy Research
Lots of astronomy students are involved in research! Check out the astronomy department website and look for professors whose research interests you. Announcements are also sent out via the department's mailing list.
Python
Python is the main programming language used in astronomy research and some astronomy classes, but it can also be useful for all kinds of scientific research. AST 375R and the White Dwarf Stars FRI stream teach you basic python skills. There are many resources around the university that you may find of use, including workshops and tutorials that we host as well as those organized by Gender Minorities in Physics (GMiP).
